Speaking Out

I've been silent for a while. I keep wanting to write about politics, but it seems like things are becoming so big that I don't know where to start. However, it is worse to be silent than to be ignored, and so I must say something.

I start with the fact that I hate George Bush. When I say "hate", I mean it not as hyperbole or mere rhetorical seasoning. I mean that I feel deep hatred when I contemplate what this single man has done to the world. This is a surprising thing, since hate is not something I tend to feel; I can count the number of people I hate on one finger.

I have reasons for hating Bush, and I want to describe them. I expect that either you already agree with my reasons, or you won't bother paying attention. Yet I want to describe them anyway. My goal is not to convince, but to speak.

Bush lies. He intentionally lies, about deadly serious subjects. He is not stupid, or confused. He lies about killing people. He started a war, which has killed tens of thousands of people, based on lies. He knew he was lying, and yet he pushed for a war anyway. When you lie about things like murder, you are not just dishonest, you are evil. Bush is evil.

He lied about the need for war. He knew there were no weapons of mass destruction, because Hans Blix had made that very clear. He knew that Osama Bin Laden wasn't working with Saddam, yet he worked to reinforce that impression. By lying about the need for war, he tricked people into thinking that it was necessary.

He lied about the cost of war. He said it would only take a matter of weeks. He said Iraq's oil stockpiles would cover the costs. He continues to avoid putting the war in the budget. By lying about the cost, he tricked people into thinking the war would be easy.

Bush ignores anyone who points out that he's lying. Millions of people all over the world protested his lies before the war, but he ignored them. Political experts pointed out that he needed to plan for "winning the peace" in Iraq, but he ignored them. Military experts pointed out that the war would be expensive, but he ignored them. Terrorism experts pointed out that war in Iraq would likely increase terrorism, but he ignored them. It is the responsibility of an honorable leader to be intellectually honest. Bush is neither honest nor honorable.

Bush is continuing this pattern of deception and destruction with his attack on social security. He lies that the system is in crisis, when in fact there will only be a moderate difficulty 40 years from now. He lies that private accounts will solve the problem, when in fact they will make it worse. He ignores the fact that social security can be fixed with only small changes. He ignores the fact that Medicare is the bigger problem.

Bush is a destroyer. He destroyed the support given to America after 9/11. He destroyed Iraq. He destroyed the security of the country by putting us into debt. He is currently working on destroying social security.

I have more to say, about how democrats are a pathetic excuse for a progressive party, about American citizens tolerating Bush's lies and war crimes, about how the press tries so hard to be objective that they end up being merely a tool for propaganda, and about how frustrated I am that I don't know how to make anything change. But I have to stop now. More later.

I hate that man, too.

I have a journalist friend I've talked with about press objectivity making them a mouthpiece for liars, and she agrees that that's what's happening but seems fatalistic about anyone fixing it. It's frustrating because that sort of objectivity hasn't even been around so long. You'd think ways of dealing with the problem would at least be imaginable.

I hate that guy too, I don't know what he was working or doing in detail, but generating stupid wars likes him is fetid.
I am even worry if I make someone sad, I can not understand what he could gain by his actions. His objective is being cranky
