A Head For An Eye

Palestinians kill 2 Israeli children. In response, Israelis kill 73 Palestinians, and counting. Article here.

What the Israeli government needs is a marketing department, to help them realize that this kind of behavior is simply disgusting and unacceptable. What they seem to have instead is a sugar daddy (the U.S.) who keeps the money flowing no matter what kind of atrocities are committed, and a self-righteous world view that claims that anybody who criticises Israel is merely being anti-Semitic.

Killing two children in a covert act hardly counts as just "criticizing Israel". Neither does harboring said terrorists.
But I do agree that Israel's responses often cross over into the heinous and that their grip on international PR is weak. Sadly, the Arabs' and Palestinians' actions and understanding of PR are similarly weak. Neither side of this long-running problem seems willing to do what it takes to resolve the problem, though I do think Israel has made some fair attempts in the last decade -- only to be rewarded with more of the same.

By "criticism" I wasn't referring to the original missile attacks. I was referring to verbal criticism. For example:

The foreign minister of the Netherlands, which currently holds the European Union presidency, criticized Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday as "disproportionate." Foreign Minister Ben Bot said the EU is prepared to act as a mediator in peace talks, he said.

France condemned the Israeli operation on Monday, while Egypt's foreign minister urged Israel to stop its "policy of assassination and destruction," the semiofficial Middle East News Agency reported.

Why do you criticize Israel twice, and you don't criticize the terrorists who launched an attack on civilians, and killed two innocent children, even a single time?

Wouldn't a pro-forma "yeah, yeah, it's too bad that innocent kids got killed" be the least you could do?
